9/25/2020 Maiden Voyage

 9/25/2020

- Kerrville Schreiner/ Comfort/ Boerne/ Guadalupe River SP

Meet the new addition!

We are beyond excited to embrace this new chapter in our travel/ camping/ outdoor life! We christened the campervan Van Go - because it's primary function will be to produce Starry Nights.

Our first expedition was a trip down memory lane - we took Z to see Stonehenge II almost 20 years ago when it was still in the late Al Sheppard's field. It has been relocated to the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram along with the Moai that shared the field.

Recreating a photo taken with Z when she was about this size.

We spent our first night in Van Go at the Kerrville-Schreiner Park. This used to be a state park, but was transferred to the city. Nice facilities and some very family friendly "hikes", but most importantly - stars!

Next day we were up and off to Guadalupe River State Park - we have very fond memories of this entire area as this is where we evacuated to during Hurricane Rita. We stopped off in Comfort to see the seashell graves in the cemetery and their hygieostatic bat roost,

and then in Boerne for treats at the Bear Moon café and an amble along their Cibolo Creek trail.

Guadalupe River State Park delivered on the stars and gorgeous riverside views.
